The classic Rickenbacker bass—renowned for its long sustain, punchy tone rich in overtones, and a solid low-end foundation, all thanks to its neck-through-body construction.
The 4003S model is based on the 4001S bass, made famous by icons such as Paul McCartney and Chris Squire. Unlike the 4003 model, it features no body or fretboard binding, incorporates softer body contours, and includes dot inlays on the fretboard. Additionally, the 4003S comes with the standard Rickenbacker circuitry and a mono output.
Models 4003 and 4003S manufactured from 2017 onwards feature a fretboard made of Caribbean Rosewood (*Metopium brownei*), meaning they are not subject to CITES Appendix II regulations.
